Polish C1 reading: demanding texts and implicit meaning
At C1, reading tasks expect you to handle literary passages, academic articles, and specialized commentary where meaning is layered and partly implied. You must track irony, register shifts, and how an author positions themselves within a debate. - Practice paraphrase items where every distractor is lexically close; eliminate options that distort scope or tone.
Common mistakes at this level
- Reading for literal meaning only, and missing irony, understatement, or implied criticism in the text.
- Over-analyzing one difficult detail instead of keeping track of the text's overall structure and purpose.
